Traffic lights are mainly based on traffic congestion to regulate the length of the traffic lights, but how is this data measured? In other words, what is the duration setting?
1. Full flow rate: Under a given condition, the flow rate of a certain traffic flow or several vehicle flows through the intersection in a full state per unit time is calculated by multiplying the full flow rate by a large number of correction factors.
2. Lane group: The distribution of traffic flow between the alternative import lanes will gradually become a balanced state, so that the traffic load levels of the alternative import lanes are very close. Therefore, these alternative import lanes constitute a combination of lanes, which is customarily referred to as a lane group. In general, all straight lanes and straight-forward right-turning and straight-forward left-turn lanes form a lane group; while left-turning dedicated lanes and right-turning dedicated lanes are each independently forming a lane group.
